“Hear, you deaf; look, you blind, and see! Who is blind but my servant, and deaf like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one committed to me, blind like the servant of the LORD? You have seen many things, but have paid no attention; your ears are open, but you hear nothing.” (Isaiah 42:18–20, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – This generation has seen and heard many things that should be pointing them to God, but they pay little or no attention.  Blind and deaf.  No place in the world is this truer than in the United States.  The Truth is more open and accessible here than perhaps any other time or place in the history of the world. My fear goes something like this:  “woe to you, [America]! If the [Word] that [was proclaimed] in you had been [proclaimed] in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
