“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Literally move a mountain? Or simply hyperbole, simile or metaphor? I don’t know, but it certainly would be a waste of faith to literally move a mountain. But I suppose the point is not the mountain or the mustard seed, but the object of our faith. Afterall, He created the mountain. Moving it, by comparison, would be like the size of a mustard seed.
My Advice – Read this on FaceBook: “Stand back! I have a mustard seed and I’m not afraid to use it.” I wonder if it’s our “seed” that is too small, our “God” is too small, or we’re just afraid to use it. Would that we had it and weren’t afraid to use it.
