Good Point

“You may be sure that your sin will find you out.” (Numbers 32:23, NIV 1984).

My Musings – This is a verse with a specific context, but that has general application. In my house, it usually is me, and my wife always figures it out. But as good as she is, there is absolutely no hiding our sins from God. It’s not usually us, it’s always us. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23, NIV 1984).

My Advice – We can face it at the foot of the cross (“the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23b, NIV 1984), or at the Great White Throne judgment (“for the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23a, NIV 1984). The ground is level at the foot of the cross (“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28, NIV 1984), but it’s definitely downhill at the Great White Throne (“If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15, NIV 1984). If it were me (and it was), I’d accept the invitation (and I did). What about you?

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
