Dead Men’s Bones

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.” Matthew 23:27–28, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “We never really grow up. We only learn how to act in public.” (Unknown). I am afraid that many who profess Christ have merely learned how to act like it in public. “Beautiful on the outside…but on the outside [they] are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.” Fooling many, but not the One.

My Advice – “‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” (Matthew 7:22–23, NIV 1984). Don’t let this be you. It doesn’t have to be.
