Even the Gentiles

The Brew Is A Musing

“So, if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?” When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life.” (Acts 11:17–18, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Are there some today that we in the Church feel are unworthy of the Gospel? Well, we are all unworthy. And “God [offers] them the same gift as he gave us, who [believe] in the Lord Jesus Christ.”

My Advice“Who [are we] to think that [we] could oppose God?” Because “God [offers] even [those who look, talk or sin differently than we do] repentance unto life.” The means to salvation is exclusive, but the invitation is all-inclusive. Let’s not withhold what Christ does not.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
