Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:12, 14, ESV 2016).

My Musings – There are many (but not all) “theologians” who deny the deity of Christ, the infallibility of Scripture, and the exclusivity of “by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.” They dismiss these as foolishness. This, obviously, is the “natural person” speaking. They may have “letters” behind their name, but they do not have the Spirit behind their words. I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
