The Brew Is A Musing

Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter. Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. (Isaiah 59:14–15, ESV 2016).

My Musings – This is as much true today as it was when Isaiah proclaimed it to the Jewish people. Why is justice turned back? Why does righteousness stand far away? Because truth has stumbled in the public square and uprightness, those who shun evil, can no longer safely enter. They become targets and are attacked because truth is nowhere to be found.

My Advice – Christians, bearers of the Truth, need to stand tall in the public square and not stand far away. To stand firm and not stumble. Where God’s Truth is lacking, and that is just about everywhere these days, we must enter in to engage and not turn…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
