You created my inmost being you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. [You] determined the times set [me] and the exact places where [I] should live. [You] did this so that [I] would seek [You] and perhaps reach out for [You] and find [you]. The very hairs of my head are all numbered. [You] have engraved [me] on the palms of [Your] hands. [I am] destined to die once, and after that to face judgment. There [will be] no condemnation for [me if I am] in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” (Psalm 139:13, 16, Acts 17:26-27, Mathew 10:30, Isaiah 49:16, Hebrews 9:27, Romans 8:1,2, NIV 1984).
My Musings – Somewhat like Belshazzar, recorded in the book of Daniel, “God has numbered the days of [our lives] and [will someday bring them] to an end. [We will be] weighed in the balances [to find out if we are] wanting. [The sheep and the goats will be] divided and given to [Heaven or Hell].” (Daniel 5:26–28, NIV 1984).
“[Before] all the days ordained for [us] were written, before one of them came to be,” He was doing everything He could to make certain that “[we] would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him.” Going so far that “[He] determined the times set [us] and the exact places where [we] should live” that would be most favorable for us to find Him. So that “after that,” when we do “face judgment” there would be “no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
My Advice – He not only “determined the times…the exact places” He provided the only spotless “lamb” that was an acceptable sacrifice to take away the judgment, to remove the condemnation “as far as the east is from the west,” (Psalm 103:12, NIV 1984). But we must be “in Christ Jesus” before we are in the grave and “face judgment.“
Do not wait for a time “when [you] find it convenient, [for He may] send for you” before that time, (Acts 24:25, NIV 1984). “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2, NIV 1984). For “you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” (James 4:14, NIV 1984). Do not let it vanish before making things right with your Creator.
