Anyone “Hearing” the Musings

When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. (Matthew 13:18–23, NIV 1984).

My Musings – When I sow the “seeds” of my musings, I do not know where the “winds” of the internet will blow them or upon which type of “soil” they will land. I try to sow both seeds of encouragement and inspiration to believers and words of enticement and invitation to non-believers. Rarely do I know if or how they may have taken root.

What I do know, as long as my musings are an accurate and faithful commentary (which I pray that they are) of the “word that goes out from [His] mouth: [they] will not return to [Him] empty but will accomplish what [He desires] and achieve the purpose for which [He sends them].” (Isaiah 55:11, NIV 1984). It is unimportant whether likes or comments “return to me,” as long as it “[achieves] the purpose for which [He sends] it,” if any.

My Advice – To whoever receives and reads my musings, may you find them helpful and that they give glory to God.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
