We Believe

Roberta Brewer 1934-2026

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15, NIV 1984).

My mom passed away peacefully in her sleep early this morning, after a brief battle with dementia.

“We do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13–14, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.

  1. Steve, my heart goes out to you, for the loss that this is. Like Nancy said, “May God bless and comfort you and your family.” She is in the presence of her Saviour and nothing in this world is even remotely close to that. Love in Christ – Bruce

  2. Steve, Richard, and Bob we send our condolences. Burt was a great neighbor and sister in Christ. She’s home with Jesus and your dad! Complete she ran the race and finished the calling on her life. God give you deep inner peace at your moms homecoming!
