Put In the Effort

My son, if you accept My words and store up My commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:1-6, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “Accept, store up, turn to. call out for, applying your heart to, cry aloud for, look for it as for silver, search for it as hidden treasure.” If we really want to “find the knowledge of God” it doesn’t just happen. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Proverbs 29:13, NIV 1984).

My Advice – Put in the effort.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
