He Rules Over Them All

O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in Heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. (2 Chronicles 20:6, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Whether or not the elections turned out the way we hoped, we must remember, “there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God,” (Romans 13:1, NIV 1984). He is Sovereign. “God [still] reigns over the nations; God is [still] seated on His holy throne.” (Psalm 47:8, NIV 1984). It may not seem like it at times, but we must remember that presently “[His] Kingdom is not of this world…now [His] Kingdom is from another place,” (John 18:36, NIV 1984).

My Advice – “It is not for [us] to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority, (Acts 1:7, NIV 1984), but in the end, Christ “will bring justice to the nations. He will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.” (Isaiah 42:1, 4, NIV 1984). In the meantime, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in [Christ].” (John 14:1, NIV 1984). Because His Kingdom will come. “If it were not so, [He] would have told [us],” (John 14:2, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
