THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST – While we know for certain that Christ will someday return (He said He would), the manner of His return has been the subject of great debate.
The Rapture: Sudden and Secretive – Many believe that while there may be many signs indicating the end is approaching, few or none of the events prophesied in the book of Revelation need to occur before Jesus returns “like a thief in the night” (1 Thessalonians 5:2) for His saints. In this view, Continue reading “The Second Coming of Christ”
Proverbs 31:10-12– A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. (NIV 1984)
My Musing – As much as I want to believe that I found her, it was God who brought Eileen into my life. While we’ve faced many challenges in our journey together, she has always maintained a noble character and has always brought me good. It’s now been forty-two years since we became one. Happy Anniversary to the love of my life!
ESCHATOLOGY – The word eschatology is a combination of two Greek words: eschatos, meaning last, and logos, meaning word or significance. Thus, the book of Revelation is not just the last book in the Christian Bible, it is also God’s last, or final words to mankind, before Christ’s return. As it deals with the Biblical doctrine of last things, its normal focus is the return of Christ at the end of the age, the coming judgments preceding His return, expressions of the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God, the nature of the glorified body, and the prospects for mankind’s eternal destiny.

Who Will Intercede?
1 Samuel 2:25 – “If a man sins against another man, God may mediate for him; but if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for Him?” (NIV 1978)
My Musing – Today, of course, we know that the answer to this rhetorical question is Jesus Christ. He is qualified to intercede and is accepted by God.
My Advice – You have a relationship with God because you have a relationship with His Son. Make sure you maintain a good relationship with Jesus, by trying to live your life in a way that would be pleasing to Him. If it is pleasing to Him, it will be pleasing to God.
DIFFERING INTERPRETATIONS – There are five primary views on how one should interpret what is being revealed in Revelation. Continue reading “Differing Interpretations”
1 Samuel 2:8b, 9 – “For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; upon them He has set the world. He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked will be silenced in darkness.” (NIV 1978)
My Musing – A God who is capable of establishing the foundation of the earth, is more than capable of guarding our feet and keeping us from falling.
My Advice – Look to the Lord for stability in life. There is no surer foundation for your life.
THE MEANING OF REVELATION – The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. (Revelation 1:1a, NIV 1984)
A revelation is typically a secret or fact that is made known (revealed), usually in a surprising way. When it comes to the book of Revelation in the Bible, there is no question that there are many surprises. Continue reading “The Meaning Of Revelation”
