You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, “He did not make me”? Can the pot say of the potter, “He knows nothing”? (Isaiah 29:16, NIV 1984).
My Musings – When things are turned upside down, things are perceived to be the opposite of what they really are. Like looking at our image in a mirror. The creature does not have a creator – “He did not make me.” Or He made a mistake – “He knows nothing.” “Why did [He] make me like this?” (Romans 9:20, NIV 1984). We end up calling “evil good and good evil, [putting] darkness for light and light for darkness, [putting] bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to [us] who are wise in [our] own eyes and clever in [our] own sight.” (Isaiah 5:20–21, NIV 1984).
My Advice – A Day is coming when “the wisdom of the wise will perish; the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.” (Isaiah 29:14, NIV 1984). The question is: will we perish with it? Will we, before it is too late, see how foolish we have really been? Or will we remain “foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see?” (Jeremiah 5:21, NIV 1984). Spiritually, spatially disoriented. Up is down, Right is left. Evil is good. Darkness is light. Bitter is sweet. We came from nothing, by nothing, for nothing. When the truth is we are the “[One] who knows nothing” as it really is.
Today, “as long as it is called Today,” (Hebrews 3:13, NIV 1984), there is still time for us to turn things right-side up. To die with Christ, so we can live with Christ. Do not delay, for “[we] do not even know what will happen tomorrow.” (James 4:14, NIV 1984). Tomorrow may be too late. “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2, NIV 1984). Do not allow what could be up, be down.
