2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (NIV 1984)

My Musing – In ancient Roman religion and myth, Janus is the “god” of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and endings. He is usually depicted as having two faces, since he looks to the future and to the past. It is conventionally thought that the month of January is named for Janus  (Wikipedia).

God is THE real God of new beginnings through His Son Jesus Christ.  In Him, the old is gone (looks to the past), the new has come (looks to the future).  Unlike most new year’s resolutions, a decision to accept Christ will last.  If you are not already “in Christ,” you might want to follow my musings called “The Born Again Experience.”  If you are “in Christ,” and want a deeper relationship, you might want to follow my “Got Spiritual Milk?” musings, a twelve step study on discipleship.  Finally, since His return is imminent, keep watching for the signs, you’ll see what to look for if you are following our musings from “Studies in Revelation.”

By the way, I lost “rock, paper, scissors” with my Janis (Eileen), but with a little training I think I can do it!

Have a happy, healthy and blessed New Year!
