Careful Builders

1 Kings 6:38 & 7:1 – He (Solomon) spent seven years building it (the temple). It took Solomon thirteen years, however, to complete the construction of his palace. (NIV 1978)

My Musing – We spend a lifetime building a career, our “nest-egg” and our position within the community. How sad that we rarely put that much time and effort into building our relationship with God.

My Advice – Do not become so engrossed in building your career and in accumulating wealth and possessions that you neglect your relationship with God. Devote just as much energy in working to become more Christ like as you do to these things.
