I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2, NIV 1984).
My Musings – The above superimposes images from John Wayne’s first (as lead actor) and last movies. In between, he became a film legend, with a lot of good movies and a few good quotes. Here is one. “Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.”
John Wayne was an accomplished actor but his theology was a little suspect. Tomorrow comes in neither very clean nor perfect. We are not ready for tomorrow until we’ve learned from our yesterdays that we are in need of God’s favor. That we must first take care of today by putting our life into His hands. That is life’s most important thing. Then, and only then, is our slate wiped clean.
My Advice – Tomorrow may never come. Take care of business today.
