Until It Was Accomplished

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem…how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.” (Matthew 23:37, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Yet their (and our) unwillingness did not deter Him from willingly going to the cross.  The depth of His longing measured by the length He was willing to go to secure our salvation.

My Advice – Do we share His longing for the lost? There is no greater longing or love.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
