But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. My Musings – “I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific.”  (Lily Tomlin).

  • Somebody – A person of importance or authority.  We “are the people of God.” You cannot be more important than that. “That [we] may declare the praises of Him who called [us].”  Since it is God who calls us, there can be no greater authority.
  • Specific – Clearly defined or identified.  “[We] are a…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
