Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” (Isaiah 5:4, NIV 1984).
My Musings – These are fearful times. We (the world) have seen fearful times before, only to have fortunes turn to better times. This may again be the case, or maybe not. But delays in His vengeance are merely another manifestation of His boundless grace and mercy. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, NIV 1984).
Divine (Godly — righteous and just) retribution (punishment for doing something wrong) will come someday. But that is not how He would have had it. He would rather “come to save [all].” His Son came to make it possible for all. But not all will accept it.
My Advice – Someday, there will be no more delay. It could be this time. It could be soon. If you have not yet trusted Christ and accepted His gift of salvation, your delay could cost you eternity. Don’t delay. “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2, NIV 1984). Once He withdraws His favor, all that remains is divine retribution.
