When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes; all he expected from his power comes to nothing. The truly righteous man attains life, but he who pursues evil goes to his death. My Musings – What these verses depict are mercy (for “the truly righteous man“) and justice (for “the wicked“). There is no injustice. It is not unjust for God to punish the wicked. It would be unjust if He did not. But, as we know, He is a just God. And even though“there is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
