The Brew Is A Musing

“Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked?” declares the Sovereign LORD. “Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? ” (Ezekiel 18:22–23, NIV 1984).

My Musings – God does not gleefully watch for us to mess up so He can crush us. Rather, through His Son, “He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5, NIV 1984).

God is not disappointed when we repent and receive life. No, it was for this very reason that Jesus “bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:12, NIV 1984).

My Advice – Let’s not deny God His pleasure. Let’s not disappoint Him by turning our backs on the costly sacrifice of His Son on the cross. Rather, let’s turn from our wicked ways…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
