Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.  (Romans 12:2, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – If you are a regular reader of my musings, you know that I’ve been thinking a lot about the polarization of our society — on so many things.  Take politics (liberal versus conservative), and wealth (the shrinking middle class) for example.  There has been an increasing paradigm shift away from the “normal” bell shape distribution, where most people converged to the center,  to an inverted bell shape with divergence to the extremes.

These are “pattern[s] of the world.”  As Christians we should conform to neither.  The spirituality curve has an entirely different look.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
