The Brew Is A Musing

“Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.” (2 Peter 3:1, NIV 1984).

My Musings – I googled “wholesome thoughts” into my browser and this thought came up.

Now, not everything on the above website could necessarily be considered wholesome, but this one resonated with me.

In the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” (I’m a sucker for sentimentality), there is a somewhat related quote by the angel Clarence. “Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. And when he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he? You’ve been given a great gift, George, a chance to see what the world would be like without you.”

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
