“This is the verdict: Light [came] into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds [are] evil.” (John 3:19, NIV 1984).
“If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:23, NIV 1984).
My Musings – A verdict is a decision made after examining the facts. The verdict — men (and women) love darkness. The facts leading to the verdict — because their deeds are evil. Whatever light we have within us is darkness compared to the Light that came into the world. In such a contrast “how great is that darkness!“
My Advice – The Light came to expose our evil and to invite us to come into the light. But if we continue to love the darkness, we will get our wish. We will “be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8:12, NIV 1984). Don’t let this be your verdict.
