Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. (Isaiah 5:20–21, NIV 1984).

My Musings – See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. What does that even mean anymore? What we once saw as evil, is not anymore. What would once make our ears ring, is now just background noise. Once upon a time, if we had nothing good to say, we would say nothing at all.

So what happened to evil? The dictionary defines it the same way — morally or highly reprehensible, sinful. We have not changed the definition of evil. But we’ve changed the things that we consider to be morally reprehensible or sinful. We still believe that evil is…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
