I Believe in Life Everlasting

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV 1984).

“The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good [whoever believes in Him], unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil [whoever does not believe], unto the resurrection of damnation.” (John 5:28–29, KJV).

My Musings – I believe in life everlasting (The Apostles’ Creed), the life of the world to come (The Nicene Creed). The key word is believe. Believe in Him, not merely believe about Him. “Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” (James 2:19, NIV 1984). There is a world of difference. The world to come difference. I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives.
