“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:12–15, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” A cynical reference to people who succeed because of their connections and not because of their hard work, talent or accomplishments. Having a benefactor who provides one with “Great Expectations” they would not otherwise have if left to the own devices.

Perhaps because it not supposed to work like that in life, people have a difficult time accepting it when it comes to the afterlife. But how we spend eternity has nothing to…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
