Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. (1 Peter 5:6, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.” (Gandalf, from the movie “The Fellowship of the Ring). “In due time.” The oft overlooked end of the sentence, as people tend to pause at the part about being lifted up. When, in our opinion, His due time becomes past-due our expected time, humility goes out the window.
My Advice – I don’t know about “wizards,” but I do know about God. He is never late or early. He is not on central time, eastern time, or Greenwich mean time. He is on due time. What’s more, He never breaks trust. So, keep the faith, be patient, and stay humble my friends.
Never, NEVER is He early or late. Excellent blog you shared.
