On The Road To Destruction

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13–14, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – I live in northern Illinois in the United States where there are four distinct seasons.  But the joke is that there are really only two, winter and road construction.  Where roads and highways are made smoother and wider.  Two-lanes become four, and four lanes become six, to handle more traffic.  

Is it me, or does it just seem like the road that leads to destruction is getting wider and wider, and that even more such roads are being constructed, as the season of God’s grace approaches the season or His wrath?  And yet the traffic on them still seem to…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
