Do Not

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked, for the evil man has no future and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out. (Proverbs 24:19–20, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “Do not fret,” do not be constantly or visibly worried or anxious. Do not “be envious,” a feeling of discontented or resentful longing. The first incites, the second invites.

My Advice – Do not be stirred up by those who are evil, they will come to nothing. Do not be drawn to the flame of the wicked, it will be extinguished.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
