What If He Had Not?

The Brew Is A Musing

Agrippa said to Festus, “This man could have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.” (Acts 26:32, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Could have been set free. How different would things have been if Paul had not appealed to Caesar? He planned to go to Rome on his way to Spain anyway? Well for one thing his testimony might not have reached even into the palace. Orchestrated by Paul or God? Most likely God’s design. Paul saw it as his best way out of a predicament. God saw it as the best way in to Caesar’s household.

My Advice – We face predicaments all the time. While you’re thinking about (and praying about) a way out, take time to also consider what opportunity God might be taking you into because of the predicament. God most likely has a reason for the predicament.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
