Marked Out For Us

Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1–2, NIV 1984).

My Musings – There will be “crosses” of our own that we must bear in this life. During these times it may be difficult for us to accept that they have been “marked out for us.” We can either wallow in self-pity or “run [the race} with perseverance.” Made easier if we keep our “eyes [fixed] on Jesus” and on “the joy set before” us.

My Advice – You can do it!

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
