The Brew Is A Musing

“One man dies in full vigor, completely secure and at ease, his body well nourished, his bones rich with marrow. Another man dies in bitterness of soul, never having enjoyed anything good. Side by side they lie in the dust, and worms cover them both.” (Job 21:23–26, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – To Job, who thought he had lived a just and honorable life, this seemed like an incredible injustice.  It seems so unfair!  And so it seems to many down through the ages until today.  Abraham had a similar concern. “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?  Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:23, 25, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
