For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Honor one another above yourselves.  Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. (Romans 12:3, 10, 16, NIV 1984).

My Musings – How much better would this world be if we could really do this?  To not be conceited or think of ourselves more highly than we ought?  To not be so proud that we are unwilling to associate those we think are of a lower position than we are?  To honor them more than we do ourselves?  To not be judgmental, but rather judge soberly (in moderation and self-restraint) in accordance…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
