Ever The Fool

Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue. (Proverbs 17:28, NIV 1984).

My Musings – As I read things on the internet (and in the news) there are many that I would prefer to think wise and discerning. If only they would keep “silent.” As I am sure there are many who think my musings are foolish and wish that I would keep silent. “But if I say, “I will not mention him or speak any more in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.”

My Advice – Let’s all do our best to be discerning in what we say and write. “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’” (1 Corinthians 1:18–19, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
