The Brew Is A Musing

“I cannot bear your evil assemblies…They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. Stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” (Isaiah 1:13-14, 16–17, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Written specifically to Judah, I think this could equally apply to many of today’s churches. Hopefully not evil, but assemblies that are nonetheless burdensome and wearisome. Production and entertainment rather than praise and exegesis. Social issues at the expense of spiritual involvement. Savoring judgment rather than seeking justice. Disengaged from the oppressed, fatherless and widows, doing “the least for these.” Sedentary when it’s time to serve. Going to church rather than doing church. Forsaking their first love.

My Advice – “Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.” (Revelation 2:5…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives.
