People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. (2 Timothy 3:2–5, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – This is about as accurate a depiction of today’s culture (“lovers of themselves…lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God“) and many of today’s “so-called” churches (“having a form of godliness but denying its power“), as could possibly be.  Penned about 2,000 years ago to describe the “terrible times in the last days.” (2 Timothy 3:1, NIV 1984).  Clearly, we are in the “last days.” How close we are to the “end of the age,” may not be as clear, but signs appear to…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
