My Musings – You know this story. God had sent Jonah to preach destruction on an evil kingdom. Yet when they repented, God was “gracious and compassionate,” and “relent[ed] from sending calamity.” This angered Jonah, who preferred calamity over compassion.
I see a lot of anger in the Christian community towards the current generation. A generation that has largely dismissed God in general, and Christ in particular. But “have [we] any right to be angry?” When it comes to matters of faith, many of these same people “cannot tell their right hand from their left.Should [we] not be concerned about [their eternal destiny]?” (Jonah 4:11, NIV 1984).
