Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:1–2, NIV 1984).

My Musing – How mysterious the workings of our God. We see their effect, but we do not always understand how or why they are caused. Beyond what He reveals to us in His Word and in nature, we can only surmise what He is really like.

But how incredible is it to know that “now,” not at some future point, we are His children? Then, at some future point, not now, “we shall be like Him.” Like Him, not the same as Him. “Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
