When God Gets Weary

The Brew Is A Musing

You have wearied the LORD with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. By saying, “All who do evil are good in the eyes of the LORD, and he is pleased with them” or “Where is the God of justice?” (Malachi 2:17, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Human nature, our sin nature, is so predictable. As Solomon might say, “nothing new under the sun.” Just different degrees. What was true in the late 5th century B.C. with Malachi’s generation is still true today. At some point in time, God will be more than wearied by our calling evil good and questioning His justness. His grace will give way to wrath. Good will prevail and justice will be served.

My Advice – If you are in Christ, justice has already been served on your behalf. Jesus bore the penalty for you on the cross. Through His resurrection…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
