Craving

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. (1 Peter 2:2–3, NIV 1984).

My Musings – How many of us after having tasted, really crave for more? That intense, earnest, internal desire to have more. Motivated by a longing to grow in the Lord. To know more about Him. To attain that full measure.

My Advice – If the craving is not there, have we really tasted in the first place? Or maybe we have not been instructed that there is so much more to a Spirit-filled life in Christ than the first taste of justification? Don’t allow yourself to be satisfied if the craving is not there.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
