Rooted

Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. (Isaiah 37:31, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Unless a plant takes root below, it cannot bear fruit above. What’s more, “if the root is holy, so are the branches,” (Romans 11:16, NIV 1984), that bear the fruit.

My Advice“This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.” (John 15:8, NIV 1984). Not seeing any fruit? Check your roots. If you have “received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” (Colossians 2:6–7, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
