Mirror, Mirror…

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:11–12, NIV 1984).

My Musings – “Our problem with following Jesus is that we’re trying to be a better version of us, rather than a more accurate reflection of Him.” (Bob Goff). Maybe that is why the reflection is so poor. If so, we need to adjust our focus in order to get a sharper image.

My Advice – And how do we do that? “[We have] only to look at Jesus to see what God is like. [Others] should only have to look at us to see what Jesus is like.” (Randy Alcorn).

“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, Who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:17–18, NIV 1984).

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
