Be Careful

“Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:7–9, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Prosperity and success take on a different look when viewed through the lens of God’s “Book of the Law. And if we “do not turn from it to the right or to the left” we will never see it any other way.

Of course, as long as we live in this mortal body we will never be “careful [enough] to do everything written in it.” But we need “not be terrified.” We need “not be discouraged. Through life’s ups and downs, our slips and falls, “the Lord [our] God will be with [us]wherever [we] go.

My Advice“Be strong and courageous” in the Lord.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
