When Failure To Choose Is A Choice

Joshua 24:14, 15 – “Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves whom you will serve. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (NIV 1978)

My Musing – Few Christians would intentionally and explicitly choose to not serve the Lord. But the sad reality is that many do so “unintentionally” and implicitly simply by inaction. Choices that we do not make are really choices.

My Advice – Be intentional about your choice to serve God. Make this a choice not only for yourself, but when the time comes for your family too.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.

  1. In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
