Life And Peace

The mind of sinful man is death. The sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. (Romans 8:6–8, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Does not and cannot. Does not submit, cannot please. Does not implies intentionality. Openly opposed and resistant to submission – hostility. Cannot implies inability. Lacking the capacity to ever please.

My Advice – Fortunately, there is more to the above passage that I omitted. “But the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6, NIV 1984). Once we come to Christ, we also receive the Holy Spirit. Changing both our intentions and abilities. Allow the Holy Spirit to control your mind.
