“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31–32, NIV 1984).

“Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.” (1 Corinthians 6:7–8, NIV 1984).

My Musings – Bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, cheating, along with every form of malice. Kindness, compassion, forgiveness, rather be wronged or cheated. If asked which we prefer, the answer would most likely be the latter, If asked how we often behave, regrettably it might be the former. And the scales, for society in general, seem to be tipping more and more that way. Society, as in social. Maybe I was just being naïve, but things (people) seemed to be kinder and gentler…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
