Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. (1 Corinthians 16:13–14, NIV 1984).
My Musings – “Be on your guard,” vigilant, prepared for any contingency. “Stand firm” determined, stalwart, and unyielding. “In the faith,” strong and unshakeable belief in the Gospel of Christ. “Be men of courage,” the choice and willingness to confront agony, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. “Be strong,” confident and determined, and not easily influenced or worried by opposition or persecution. “Do everything [guard, stand firm, faith, courage, strong] in love,” concerned (affection, compassion, care and self-sacrifice] for the well-being of others, even those who oppose you or who wish you harm.
My Advice – In your studies, take time to dig deep. “All that is gold does not glitter, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring.” (J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Fellowship of the Ring”).
