A Worthy Manner

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 1:27, 2:3-4, NIV 1984).

My Musings – One day, we will be nothing more than a collection of memories to those we left behind. Will the memories quickly fade away or will they linger to inspire? Will they provide a roadmap to eternity? If they are not doing that now, what makes us think they will then? Will we have conducted ourselves “in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ?”Or will we be remembered for our “selfish ambition or vain conceit?”A life lived only for our “own interests” or also for the “interests of others?

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives.
